Richard Hedlind plays floorball in Colorado Springs but grew up in Falun, the best floorball city.
Richard has been playing floorball since the early 1980s and hopes to continue playing for many years to come. After moving to Colorado Springs in 1998, he always had the ambition of introducing the sport to the area. In 2007, he and his brother Jonas founded Colorado Springs Floorball with the goal of growing and developing floorball in their local community.
Since then, the club has experienced both ups and downs, but over the past five years they have built a stable and active group with consistently strong participation.

Over the past few months, I’ve played in the World Championship qualifiers in Singapore and the World Games in the USA. Normally, there are about two tournaments a year, but 2022 is no ordinary year! A major reason for this is, of course, the World Games. The third tournament to be added to the list is the recently concluded World Championship in Switzerland, which Sweden won. I’ve had the honor of sharing the story of my journey with the national team once again, and here is the latest chapter.
Road To The World Games: Meeting the world's best floorball national team is enough fuel
On July 7, the seriousness began in Birmingham. The World Games opening ceremony, which was overwhelming and can be compared to the opening of the Olympics, had over 30,000 people in the stands with cool performances that will be a memory for a lifetime. The next day was the day Thailand would face a top 4 team in the world for the first time ever. Switzerland stood for the resistance.

Part of Thailand's build-up to the World Games was the World Cup qualifier in Singapore. Thailand went undefeated in their group and thus won the group and qualified directly for the WC. See below for Nick's comments on the matches in the qualifiers.
